About

Smart Home Know-How is focused on helping with your tech-related issues.

Welcome!

My name is Andrew, and I will be the one helping you with all your tech related issues. I’ve been a software engineer for more than 14 years and I am passionate about everything tech related ever since I was growing up in the 90s.

I started with a black and white TV back in the 90s while growing up and moved to a TV with one single channel for years until we got satellite TV and more channels. And for all those years I troubleshoot any issues we had, from going outside and moving the antenna around to get a better signal to anything on the TV that needed set up.

I had a Terminator 2 (which is a clone of Nintendo Famicom) console connected to that black and white TV for years, I had a 486 PC running MS-DOS and Windows 95, I had dial-up internet and a film camera. And I used every technology available in the field since then. Windows 2000, Windows XP, and any other version of Windows until 11. I used all the major Linux distros, Mac OS, I had a Nokia 3310, one of the first “smartphones” using Windows mobile, one of the first versions of Android phones, all the way up to latest Android and iPhone models.

I had laptops that were bulky and heavy and now I have the latest versions of MacBooks or Windows Laptops, I had 56 kbps internet speed and now I have 1 Gbps, I had a Tamagotchi and now I’m using virtual reality headsets. I’ve lived through everything the tech universe threw at us.

So as you can see I have experienced everything that came into our lives in the past 20 years and experienced everything from the most basic analog devices to the newest technologies that surround us in our homes. There is no one better prepared to help you with your tech issues and to answer your questions as I am, and I will do everything in my power to help you when you need it.

On the site you will find info on how to make your house more automated, how to incorporate all these smart devices launching every day in your day-to-day life and how to use them to make your life easier, how to make everything work together, and how to troubleshoot them when they don’t work as you’d like them to.
